Exam Results

Students and staff at St Francis Xavier School in Richmond are once again celebrating exceptional exam results.  A third of results achieved were at A* and A grades and overall students achieved a magnificent 83% 5 A*-C including English and Math’s.

The school has achieved a progress 8 score of 0.63 of which the school is extremely proud.  This is a new government measure that indicates how much progress children make between their KS2 SAT’s and GCSE’s.  At St Francis Xavier School children make almost a grade higher than is expected nationally across all subject areas! This has put the school in the top 5% of the country and prompted Nick Gibb to send the school a letter of congratulations.

Headteacher, Sharon Keelan-Beardsley, praised the outstanding work ethic of the students, who she says were extremely well taught by a caring and dedicated team of staff.  “It is amazing to see our young people grow and develop throughout their time at St Francis Xavier School.  They have been a lovely year group who have not only achieved superb exam results, but who have taken part and excelled in so many aspects of school life.  As you can imagine, I am totally delighted for the individual students, a number of whom have achieved all A’s and A*s, but also for those who have overcome adversity to do so well.  It is a privilege to work with young people who have such high aspirations and it is wonderful to see them excelling academically as well as growing spiritually and emotionally in their time with us.  They can now look to the future with confidence and I will enjoy finding out what they have achieved when they come back to visit their old school.”

Destinations: 100% of the 2016 leavers were offered places for training or further education.
